MK Alamgir criticises last CG for overstay in power

Home Minister Mohiuddin Khan Alamgir on Monday slammed the last caretaker government for holding onto power for more than three months in the name of organising polls.

While addressing a function on Dhaka University campus, the minister also marked the act as a “big corruption”.

“What else can be a larger corruption than spending two years in state power for serving own interests in the name of holding elections within three months?”, Mohiuddin questioned.

“Now, the time has come to speak against them…reveal their mask,” he stated, attending the ceremony organised to unwrap a research report, conducted on the police service.

The criminology and criminal justice programme of the department of sociology of the university conducted the survey on people’s satisfaction over police service. The report was prepared by interviewing 617 persons who visited 46 police stations in the capital.

Dhaka University Vice Chancellor Prof AAMS Arefin Siddique, Professor of sociology KM Saad Uddin, Inspector General of Police Hasan Mahmud Khandaker, and Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Benzir Ahmed, among others, spoke at the occasion, organised at the Nabab Nawab Ali Chowdhury Senate Bhaban at the university.
