Activists of Islami Chhatra Shibir, the student body of Jamaat-e-Islami, vandalised a police vehicle at Mohakhali in the capital on Sunday morning.
The Shibir supporters brought out a procession at the rail crossing area in Mohakhali at 9:15am as part of their central demonstration programme protesting the High Court order, which declared Jamaat-e-Islami’s registration as a political party illegal.
The Shibir activists hurled bricks towards the law enforcers who obstructed them in front of BAF Shaheen College. They also exploded six cocktails there.
Rezaul Islam, sub-inspector of Tejgaon police station, confirmed the matter to the Dhaka Tribune.
Police fired six to eight rounds of tear shells to disperse the Shibir men.
