A Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal man was stabbed to death, allegedly by a Bangladesh Chhatra League activist, at Old Bataichhari Bazar in Barura upazila on Thusday.
The deceased was identified as Mamunur Rashid, 22, an activist of Chhatra Dal and son of Sekandar Ali of the upazila’s East Padua village.
Locals said Babul Hossain Bappi, an activist of Chhatra League of Shikarpur village, had sold one of Mamun’s motorcycles, having borrowed it from him.
On Thursday night Bappi asked Mamun to come to Old Bataichhari Bazar, demanding the money from the motorcycle sale.
When Mamun reached the site, at around 11pm, Bappi stabbed at him indiscriminately, leaving Mamun dead on the spot.
