Bangladeshi-origin Briton killed in Moulvibazar

A British citizen of Bangladeshi origin was found dead in a private car on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Giasnagar union in Sadar upazila Sunday.

The victim was identified as Saolina Tilat Younar, 23, daughter of Joinur Rahman of Borshijuda in Sadar upazila.

On information, police recovered the body of Saolina from her car at Gumra area on Sylhet-Sreemangal highway in the morning, sub-inspector of Moulvibazar Sadar Police Station Delwar Hossain said.

He said the body, which bore several injury marks at the head and throat, was sent to Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, according to UNB.

She was killed by miscreants for valuables, he added.

Younar came to Bangladesh a few days ago to stay with her grandmother during Ramadan, our correspondent in Sylhet reports.

She married Jamilur Rashid, a UK resident, three years ago, according to family sources. They have no children.
