A gang of robbers broke into a Buddhist temple in Savar during the early hours on Sunday, looting valuables and beating two resident clerics.
The temple is located in the Gazirchot area of Ashulia, Savar.
Police said around 10 masked criminals broke the locks of the temple around 2am and looted a laptop, two mobile phones, an unverified amount of cash and other valuables.
They also tied up and beat two clerics living inside.
Ashulia police station’s officer-in-charge Sheikh Badrul Alam said a case in this connection would soon be filed.
No arrests have been made yet.
