Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) is experimentally used for the first time in seven booths of Madan Mohan College polling centre.
Women are casting their votes in one of the seven EVM booths.
Rani Malakar, 90, said: “I like it [EVM]. The system is so fast.”
Kamal Uddin, assistant presiding officer, said: “Some voters were found uncomfortable as they weren’t familiar with the system. But whenever any voter is found who don’t understand how to vote, immediately they are facilitated.”
“As there is no chance of spoiling of a vote, we can help them to try the system taking a longer time.”
Shipra Das, another woman who voted in the centre, said: “I could vote in very short time.”
