Update : 03 Jun 2013, 07:10 AM

A Dhaka court Monday passed a five-day remand order for the two accused for their involvement in the double murder in the capital’s Shewrapara.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate S M Ashiqur Rahman passed the order.

DB Inspector Md Humayun Kabir produced Milon Poramanik and Sohel Poramanik before the court and pleaded for a 10-day remand.

On Saturday night, Rapid Action Battalion members held Milon Poramanik from Tongi, Gazipur.

Abul Bashar, 32, an employee of a private company, and Rajib, 22, a BBA student of Green University, were brutally killed inside a residential apartment in the city's West Shewrapara area on Friday.

Sher-e-Bangla Nagar police recovered the bodies of Khairul and Rajib from the 2nd floor of a four-storey building at 552 Shamim Sharani in the area around 2:45pm on Friday.

Later, Hawlader Mamun, an uncle of Khairul, filed a case with Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station in this connection. Police detained two residents and a maidservant from the flat for interrogation the same night.

Police suspected that the victims might have been strangled to death, adding that there were marks of injuries on their bodies. The deceased had been living with five others in the rented flat.
