A Dhaka court on Sunday granted bail to blogger Moshiur Rahman Biplob in a case filed against him for “hurting religious sentiments”.
Dhaka Metropolitan Special Judge Md Zahurul Haq came up with the order in response to separate bail pleas filed by Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua for bloggers Moshiur and Asif Mohiuddin.
However, Asif was denied bail and sent to jail.
Meanwhile, the court fixed June 27 for hearing on the charge framing against four accused bloggers, including Moshiur and Asif.
Earlier on May 12, the same court granted bail to bloggers Subrata Adhikari Shuvo and Rasel Parvez.
The court also took into cognizance the case against Moshiur Rahman Biplob, Subrata Adhikari Shuvo and Rasel Parvez.
The four bloggers were arrested early April from different parts of the capital, for allegedly making “derogatory contents about Islam and Prophet Muhammad (sm)” on the internet.
