Chinese ambassador visits DU

Chinese Ambassador in Bangladesh Mr. Li Jun called on Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique at his office on Tuesday.

Cultural Counselor of Chinese Embassy Liang Bin, Second Secretary Shi Wei, He Xiaoyan and Director of the Institute of Modern Languages of Dhaka University Sultan Ahmad were present on this occasion.

They discussed matters of mutual interest especially the possibilities of exchange of students and teachers between Dhaka University and universities of China. They also stressed the need to sign memorandum of understanding for undertaking collaborative academic programmes between Dhaka University and Chinese universities.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. AAMS Arefin Siddique apprised the Chinese ambassador of academic and research activities of Dhaka University and its contributions to different fields in the country.

 Exchange of cultural teams of students between the two countries is essential to promote bilateral relationship, the Vice-Chancellor pointed out.

Chinese Ambassador Li Jun said a friendly relation has been prevailing between Bangladesh and China for long time and this relation is getting stronger day by day.

He also said his country is interested to undertake joint collaborative academic programmes with Bangladesh.
