Government to introduce online PMIS to register all cadre officers

Update : 28 May 2013, 06:52 AM

The Ministry of Public Administration will be introducing an online Personal Management Information System (PMIS) with the help of a database software to register all cadre officers of the country.

Detailed information of all Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) cadre officers, who are serving in different ministries, directorates, departments, organisations and offices, will be stored in this system, including information on deputy secretaries and higher officials.

A high official of the ministry said the number of cadre officers is not less than 50,000, thus the system will help in maintaining coordination between the different ministries.

Md Khurshed Shahriar, a senior secretary of the public administration ministry, said a letter was issued on Saturday which requested all cadre officers to give their ID number and last two digits of the appointed year. The officers have to provide the required information online within 10 working days.

The PMIS is a secure system for authorised users only and is managed and maintained by the Public Administration Computer Centre (PACC) of the public administration ministry.

Mohammod Hafizur Rahman, a programmer of PACC said they are collecting information from all cadre officers which was earlier only limited to public administration ministries officer. The software will store all information in one place, he added.
