The dawn-to-dusk hartal, called by opposition BNP and its wings in protest of the arrest warrant against BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman, is underway in 10 districts.
The districts are Comilla, Joypurhat, Laxmipur, Kishoreganj, Feni, Rajbari, Tangail, Narsingdi, Faridpur and Madaripur.
Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) examinations will be out of the hartal purview.
On Sunday, a Dhaka court issued arrest warrant against BNP senior vice-chairman Tarique Rahman in a graft case.
The court also allowed the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to take help from Interpol in this connection, reports banglanews.
In the latest development, the arrest warrant against Tarique Rahman has been sent to the foreign ministry.
