NSTU students protest to press their three-point demand

Students of the Noakhali Science and Technology University on Monday closed down the buildings of the Faculties of Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry to put forth their three-point demand to the university.

The students demand to be issued degrees upon completion of their course in engineering, to be provided the necessary laboratory facilities and for the university to appoint qualified teachers.

The demonstrators said even though they have to pay a lot of money in course fees, the university provides neither competent teachers nor the proper facilities. The students had staged a similar protest on May 2 on the same issues.

The campus has been in a state of unrest with students boycotting lectures and chanting slogans around the school.

When contacted by our reporter, the Vice Chancellor of the Noakhali Science and Technology University, A K M Sayeedul Haque Chowdhury, and the register, Mominul Haque, declined to resopond.
