Cyclone storm Mahasen passes through Bangladesh as people start getting back to their homes. Earlier on Thursday, Mahasen made landfall at Kuakata after originating in the Bay of Bengal. At least five people were killed on their way to safe locations in Patuakhali, Barguna and Bhola districts on Thursday morning. Compared to 1991 cyclone that killed an estimated 139,000 people and left millions homeless, Mahasen left with minimal damage. Although the total evaluation of damages is still to be done, precautionary measures taken by the authorities have been proved to be adequate until now. Around 5pm on Thursday, Port authorities started loading and unloading ships . Port city Chittagong is likely to go back to it's normal life from tomorrow.
