Hartal forces rescheduling of HSC exams

The Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations of May 9 and May 12 have been rescheduled due to the countrywide two-day hartal called by the 18-party alliance.

According to a press release issued by the education ministry, exams initially scheduled for May 9 will begin at 9am on May 31 and the afternoon’s exams at 2pm.

Exams initially scheduled for May 12 will begin at 10am and the afternoon’s exams at 2pm on June 1, it added.

The BNP-led 18-party alliance called a countrywide two-day dawn-to-dusk shutdown from Wednesday protesting the killing of common people and demanding restoration of the caretaker government system.

Meanwhile, Hefazat-e-Islam called a countrywide dawn-to-dusk hartal for Sunday in protest against “killing of their activists” during the Dhaka rally last Sunday.
