Sohana Saba back on silver screen with Brihonnola

Update : 06 May 2013, 05:27 AM

After a break of more than three years, popular actress Sohana Saba is all set to embark on silver screen very soon. About her current ventures and some interesting aspects of her personal life,

she has been interviewed with the Dhaka Tribune:

Tell us about your new film:

I am working as the lead actress in Murad Parvez’s upcoming film named “Brihonnola”.

Who is acting opposite of you?

Well, I am not going to disclose it as it will be a surprise for the audience.

What’s the story of “Brihonnola”?

It’s all about village politics set against the backdrop of our social structure. I am playing a character of a village girl and also a politician and a social worker. She plays a vital role in the village politics and on the other hand it’s a love story. It is a touchy story and I really think the audience will like it.

Why have you taken a long break?

In the mean time, I was asked with many proposals of films. But I preferred to do something remarkable for my fans. So, I have gone through many scripts to find something new. Finally, the storyline, which is quite unusual, touched me. Always my fans wanted to see me in something new. So, I don’t want to disappoint my fans. If it takes more time to give a quality work, I am ready to wait for the right time and movie to work on. I always want to maintain the standard of my films.

What about your current ventures in TV?

I am working in a few single-episode plays and drama series.

Which one of silver and small screen do you prefer more?

I have been maintaining an amount of regularity on small screen. But silver screen is always more exciting. The big screen, large canvas and huge audience obviously stimulate me more. However, I strongly believe in giving my best in whatever role I am executing.

A hard worker and focused individual, Saba wants to be able to do more of quality work by which her fans will always remember her. Also a dancer, she analyses the art of dancing and acting as complementary. Saba has already made a mark on the film industry by delivering outstanding performances in movies like “Aina,” “Khela Ghar,” “Chandragrahan,” and “Priotomeshu”.
