Digital payment system iPay is going to be launch commercially on Wednesday (today).
Finance Minister AMA Muhith will inaugurate the new payment system at a city hotel around 7pm.
The digital platform started its official operation in Bangladesh in January.
iPay CEO Zakaria Swapan said: "People will be able to pay for shopping, utility bill, vat and tax with the help of iPay payment system.
"It is mainly a cashless transaction method which will help build a digital Bangladesh."
He said: "The digital payment system will create a transparent Bangladesh."
iPay is the first online payment platform in Bangladesh. it is a secure payment ecosystem that can be used for daily transactions. The transactions in iPay can be performed from mobile devices or personal computers connected to the internet.
Using this system, one can exchange money with other iPay members and make payments for purchases, utilities and other services in cashless form.
