Aditya beat compatriot Joyshavin Sidana 6-4 6-4 in the boys’ singles final while Menke received a walkover after her compatriot Haoyan Uyu retired with injury

India’s Aditya Bishal Balsekar and China’s Menke Lee clinched the boys and girls’ singles titles in the Walton Refrigerator 33rd International Junior Tennis, which concluded Friday at Ramna National Tennis Complex in Dhaka.

Aditya beat compatriot Joyshavin Sidana 6-4 6-4 in the boys’ singles final while Menke received a walkover after her compatriot Haoyan Uyu retired with injury.

The boys’ doubles final meanwhile, did not take place due to persistent rain but the match referee announced China’s Chia Cheih Lin and Sidana as the champions by virtue of a superior score in the previous rounds.

In the girls’ doubles final, China’s Jee Wen Mu and Uyoenden were declared winners as the finalists’ Haoyan couldn’t take part.

A total of 45 players, including 24 boys and 21 girls, from nine countries – host Bangladesh, India, USA, Indonesia, Nepal, Japan, Malaysia, Chinese Taipei and China - participated in the tournament.
