Bangladesh reign supreme as Asian U-14 Tennis ends

In the boys’ singles final, Bangladesh’s Mohammad Roman Hossain beat compatriot Mahadi Hasan Alve 6-4, 2-6, 7-6. In the girls’ singles final, Sri Lanka’s Saajida Razick defeated India’s Khushali Modi 5-7, 7-5, 6-2

Bangladesh reigned supreme at the Asian U-14 Series Tennis Competition as the four-day tournament came to an end Thursday at Ramna National Complex in Dhaka. The tournament was organised by Asian Tennis Federation and Bangladesh Tennis Federation.

In the boys’ singles final, Bangladesh’s Mohammad Roman Hossain beat compatriot Mahadi Hasan Alve 6-4, 2-6, 7-6. In the girls’ singles final, Sri Lanka’s Saajida Razick defeated India’s Khushali Modi 5-7, 7-5, 6-2. 

In the boys’ doubles final, Mahadi and Zubaid Utsho of the home side beat compatriots Roman and Mohammad Forhad Islam 6-4, 6-1. In the girls’ doubles final, Bangladesh’s Mashfia Afrin and Lankan Razick joined forces to defeat Modi and Zainab Patel of India.

A total of 16 male and nine female players from Bangladesh, India and Sri Lanka took part in the tournament.
