Border Guard Bangladesh and Bangladesh Police have qualified for the final of the National Men’s Handball Championship after winning their respective semi-finals in Dhaka Friday.
BGB beat Bandarban 50-22 while Bangladesh Police defeated Bangladesh Ansar 27-22.
In the first semi-final, BGB led 19-9 in the first half before continuing their dominance in the second half with 31 more goals. BGB’s Sudhan Barua and Imdadul Haque bagged seven goals apiece while Mohammad Taju Hasan was named the player of the match.
In the second semi, Mahbubul Alam scored highest 10 goals for the winning side while Mohammad Abdul Gafur was adjudged the player of the game.
The final will be held Saturday at 3pm at the same venue while the third-place decider will begin at 12pm. Bangladesh Bank Association chairman Mohammad Nazrul Islam Majumder will be present as the chief guest Saturday.
