Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party and Border Guard Bangladesh emerged as the champion in the women's and men's event respectively at the Victory Day Kabaddi Competition 2017.
In the women's final Sunday at Kabaddi Stadium, Ansar beat Bangladesh Police 30-29. The winning side led the first half 17-5. Sraboni Biswas was adjudged player of the final while Hafiza was named player of the tournament. Both are from the champion side.
In the men's final at the same venue Sunday, BGB (24) defeated Bangladesh Army (23) in what turned out to be a blockbuster finish where the former emerged victorious by just one point. BGB's Fatin Fuad was adjudged player of the final and tournament respectively.
Both the champion in the women's and men's event received Tk30,000 while the runners up sides pocketed Tk20,000. The players of the final and tournament got Tk5,000 and Tk10,000 respectively.
