Ansar clinch first ever National Women's Softball title
Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defence Party lifted the first ever National Women's Softball Competition, organised by Bangladesh Baseball-Softball Association and sponsored by Walton Group, after beating Bangladesh Police 18-6 in the final at Sultana Kamal Women's Sports Complex in Dhanmondi, Dhaka Saturday. The finalists received trophies while each of the players were awarded with home appliances. Walton Group's operative director of sports and welfare, FM Iqbal bin Anwar Don distributed prizes among the finalists while BBSA general secretary Aminul Islam Liton, tournament committee chairman AKM Mizanur Rahman and secretary Azam Ali were also present during the occasion.

A total of eight teams, divided into two groups, took part in the tournament. Group A comprised Bangladesh Police, Narail, Gazipur and Dhaka while Group B contained Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, SSC Sirajganj and Dhaka Commerce College. ATN Bangla was the media partner of the event while risingbd.com was the online partner. The tournament was co-sponsored by Marcel.
