The Sport for Tomorrow Judo Championship 2017 was jointly organised by the Embassy of Japan and Bangladesh Judo Federation at Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishthan Friday.
Around 90 girls and women judo athletes from 19 organisations from various districts, including BKSP, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Ansar and VDP, Bangladesh Village Police, Dhaka District Sports Council, Chapainawabgang district, Mahamuni Shishu Sadan of Bandarban district, Eagle Sports and Welfare Club of Narayanganj district participated in the tournament with a lot of enthusiasm.
Judo is a traditional martial sports of Japan, which is practiced all over the world. This has also been an Olympic event since its introduction in the Games in 1964. The government of Japan has been committed to an international contribution through sport initiative, which promotes sport to more than 10m people in over 100 countries until 2020, the year when Tokyo will host the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games.
