Bangladesh are looking forward to an improved performance when they take on favourite India in their second Pool A match of the Hero Asia Cup 2017 at Maulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium Friday at 5:30pm.
After losing to former champion Pakistan 7-0 in their opening game, Mahbub Harun's charges are focused on rectifying the mistakes they committed in their last two matches, including a 2-1 warm-up win against Japan.
"We failed to play according to our plans against Pakistan. We are trying to rectify the mistakes through video sessions. India are undoubtedly a strong team. We have to start afresh against them and give our best on the pitch," said Bangladesh's experienced coach Mahbub.
India, on the other hand, are confident ahead of the game after handing Japan a crushing 5-1 defeat in the inaugural game on Wednesday. India's Dutch head coach Sjoerd Maryne is determined to carry on their fine form against the home side.
"Bangladesh have the ability to bounce back. They will not be an easy team to face. We will take Bangladesh like we did Japan," said Maryne.
Meanwhile in the day's other match at the same venue, Pakistan will take on Japan at at 3pm. Bangladesh will face Japan in their last group stage game on Sunday.
All the matches will be telecast live on Star Sports 2.
