As many as 30 golf players from Bangladesh are set to take part in an international friendly golf tournament in Thailand scheduled to take place on March 16-18.
Tran Van Khoa, the Vietnamese ambassador to Bangladesh who is also the president of Tiger Golf Club Dhaka, made the announcement at a reception in Spaghetti Jazz restaurant, Dhaka on Saturday.
The tournament, supported by Kurmitola Golf Club and the tourism authorities in Bangladesh in association with the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka and the Tourism Authority of Thailand, will be held at the Alpine Golf Resort in Thailand.
The event will bring about 30 golfers from Bangladesh, including the members of Tiger Golf Club, and local Thai players together to celebrate the spirit of golf and friendship between the two countries.
The main objective of the tournament is to evaluate the scope of developing golf tours between the players of Bangladesh and Thailand, while also initiating an exchange program between the clubs of two countries.
Specially designed T-shirts, caps and trophies were also unveiled at the program on Saturday. Key individuals who attended the event included many ambassadors, senior government officials, and business owners.
The sponsors for the tour are Novo Cargo Ltd, D K Group and Lusaka Group.
