In danger of missing the cut, Siddikur Rahman is currently 12 shots behind early leader, Tadahiro Takayama of Japan
Ace Bangladesh golfer Siddikur Rahman made a struggling start in the Asia-Pacific Diamond Cup as the opening round’s play concluded at Caledonian Golf Club, Chiba Prefecture in Japan Thursday.
Siddikur carded three-over-par 74 and finds himself tied for 105th place, alongside six others.
The 32-year old golfer from Madaripur hit four bogeys against a single birdie in the first round of the $1.37m tournament.
In danger of missing the cut, Siddikur is currently 12 shots behind early leader, Tadahiro Takayama of Japan.
Siddikur, who finished at tied-44th place in last season’s Asia-Pacific Diamond Cup, currently sits at 24th position in the Asian Tour Order of Merit.
The two-time Asian Tour winner, who enjoyed the best ever finish – third – by any Bangladeshi in the European Tour in July this year, played in Japan earlier in April where he finished joint ninth, his second top 10 result in the Asian Tour this season after finishing second in the Bashundhara Bangladesh Open in February.
