Despite getting the passport the 31-year old has yet to get the permission from FIFA to take part in international match for Bangladesh
Nigerian-born striker Eleta Kingsley got a call up for Bangladesh men’s national football team squad for the forthcoming SAAF tournament.
Kingsley, who married a Bangladeshi woman and got his Bangladesh passport earlier this year, has been a very successful striker in the domestic arena and currently playing for league champion Bashundhara Kings.
Despite getting the passport the 31-year old has yet to get the permission from FIFA to take part in international match for Bangladesh.
However, BFF secretary general Abu Nayeem Shohagh assured the striker will get the permission within this month and if coach Jamie Day approves he will make his Bangladesh debut soon.
He said, "Kingsley's name is on the list of 35 people who have been sent for SAFF. We have submitted his name so that the coach can take him if he gets a Fifa clearance. We are hopeful of getting his clearance this week."
Jamie has named a 35-man squad for the SAFF which will start from October 1 in Maldives. Bangladesh will commence their preparation from next week.
