Bangladesh men’s national football manager Amer Khan and physiotherapist Fuad Hasan Hawlader has tested Covid-19 negative and set to regroup with rest of the team in Doha.
Amer and Fuad are the only members in the Bangladesh contingent who tested Covid-19 positive after their arrival in the Qatar capital on November 19. They have been isolated since then.
Both had their third test in Qatar on Tuesday. ‘The reports came out today [Wednesday] which are negative. They will join the team tomorrow [Thursday],” said BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag to media.
Amer was named the manager of Bangladesh team for first time prior to the two-game FIFA friendly series against Nepal earlier this month.
Head coach Jamie Day is still Covid-19 positive. He was left isolated in Dhaka and waiting for negative report to depart here for joining his team in Doha.
Bangladesh will play hosts Qatar in the rescheduled World Cup and Asian Cup joint qualifying fixture at the Aspire Zone on December 4.
