The schools have been divided into eight zones in the first round, following which the eight zonal champions will move into the final round, scheduled to be held next month

The National School Football Championship will get underway Monday with the participation of 52 schools from as many districts.

The schools have been divided into eight zones in the first round, following which the eight zonal champions will move into the final round, scheduled to be held next month.

The tournament is being organized by Bangladesh Football Federation.

BFF president Kazi Salahuddin said: “We need a lot of funds to hold the tournament in a grand manner, but we don’t have the funds. To add to that, potential sponsors have also shown a lack of interest.”
