I-league outfits Gokulam Kerala FC is set to arrive in Chattogram on Monday to take part in the Sheikh Kamal International Club Cup 2019 and their late arrival caused the organizers to change the fixtures of the eight-team tournament that kicked off last Saturday.

After six-time Bangladesh Premier League champions Abahani Limited withdrew their participation three days before the start of the tournament, the organizers invited Gokulam Kerala immediately and the club also accepted the offer on a short notice.

In the initially revealed fixtures, Abahani were scheduled to face reigning BPL champions Bashundhara Kings while I-League champions Chennai City FC and Terengganu FC of Malaysia were scheduled to take on each other Monday. Chennai arrived in Chattogram on Sunday afternoon.

With the new fixtures revealed on Sunday, in Group B, the game between Chennai and Terengganu will be held on Tuesday while Bashundhara will play against Gokulam Kerala in the second match on the same day. There will be two matches at 4pm and 7pm on each match days during the group fixtures until October 26.

Gokulam Kerala was formed only two years ago and played in the I-League twice so far, finishing at the bottom half of the table on both occasions. They are currently preparing for the upcoming I-league and has won Asia’s oldest football tournament, Durand Cup 2019, in August.
