Bangladesh football team drew 1-1 in a practice game against Thailand’s Air Force United FC Tuesday.

The men in red and green will face Laos in the pre-qualifiers for the Fifa World Cup 2022 on June 6.

In preparation for the match, the players are now in Bangkok for a training camp under the supervision of head coach Jamie Day.

Against the Thai league 2 side, Bangladesh took the lead in the fourth minute of the match when forward Biplu Ahmed scored with a powerful shot from outside the box.

However, the lead did not last long as the host equalized in the 16th minute.

Bangladesh played in the 4-2-3-1 formation with Towhidul Alam Sabuj as the main striker in the first half, while Nabib Newaj Jibon replaced him in the second.

They played dominantly for the reminder of the match but Jibon, Ariful and Mahbubur Rahman Sufil missed crucial opportunities to score the winner.

Bangladesh manager Satyajit Das Rupu expressed his disappointment after the match.

Bangladesh will play their second and final practice match Saturday against top-ranked Thai league 2 team, Bangkok Glass Pathum United.

The team will then travel to Laos Monday.
