Kyrgyzstan qualified for the semi-final of the Bangamata U-19 Women’s Gold Cup 2019 after they beat the United Arab Emirates 2-1 at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Wednesday.
The Emiratis, who lost their first Group B match against host Bangladesh 2-0, have been eliminated from the tournament without any point, and the home side have also confirmed a semi-final berth.

Kyrgyzstan took an early lead as Beronbokova Aizan’s corner went straight into the post after the UAE goalkeeper failed to judge the flight of the ball.
In the 17th minute, Kyrgyzstan doubled the lead from another corner as Irisbek Kenjebubu placed a neat header home.
The UAE, who were dominated by the host in the first game, raised their intensity and got a great opportunity in the 38th minute when they were awarded a penalty after a Kyrgyz defender handled the ball.
Midfielder Shahdad Aljarkan reduced the margin to 2-1.
The UAE got a lifeline as they were awarded another penalty in the 70th minute but Sondiya Gharib squandered it by hitting the ball over the crosspiece.
Kyrgyz player Aijahan got her marching order in the final minutes but they were able to defend their lead with 10 women, and left the field with a win.
