Daniel Colindres exhibited glimpses of his finishing skills during the quarter-final against Team BJMC by scoring the fastest hat-trick in the professional league which, perhaps, tempted Sheikh Russel’s head coach Saiful Bari Titu to comment that any defensive mistake would cost both the sides

Costa Rican World Cup-playing forward Daniel Colindres will be in focus when Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra take on the new big-budget outfit, Bashundhara Kings, in the second semi-final of the Federation Cup at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Tuesday at 5pm.

Channel 9 will telecast it live, subject to change.

Colindres exhibited glimpses of his finishing skills during the quarter-final against Team BJMC by scoring the fastest hat-trick in the professional league which, perhaps, tempted Sheikh Russel’s head coach Saiful Bari Titu to comment that any defensive mistake would cost both the sides.

Making their professional debut this season with a star-studded squad led by Spanish tactician Oscar Bruzon, Bashundhara’s forward line has been threatening so far as they have score the most of any team - 12 goals - in only four matches.

Along with Colindres, national forwards Mohammad Ibrahim and Masuk Mia Joni are also in fine form.

Bashundhara will however, miss the service of their foreign midfield duo Baktiyar Duishobekov and Marcos Vinicius Silva.

Kyrgyz defensive midfielder Baktiyar left the club for international duty as he featured in his country’s 1-0 win over Malaysia in a Fifa friendly Friday.

Brazilian midfielder Marcos is sidelined with injury.

Sheikh Russel, who lost to Chittagong Abahani Limited in the tie-breaker in the quarter-final of the last edition, formed a more balanced squad this season with a solid defensive line-up led by Alison Udoka and Yeasin Khan.

They are yet to concede a single goal having played three matches so far, and scored four goals, all by their foreign recruits.

Sheikh Russel have not reached the Federation Cup final since their treble winning campaign five years ago.

It remains to be seen if they can repeat it this season, or if we see a new giant in the final.

TUESDAY'S MATCH

Bashundhara v Sk Russel, 5pm

The game will be held at BNS, Dhaka
