Bangladesh boys made a splendid start in the 2018 Saff U-15 Championship as they thrashed Maldives 9-0 at ANFA Complex in Lalitpur, Nepal Saturday.
Nihat Jaman led from the front in the goal fest as he scored four goals. Ashikur Rahman and Rasel Ahmed struck a brace each while Mehedi Hasan registered his name in the goal sheet with a goal.

Bangladesh started to dominate over the Islanders and got the result in the 11th minute as Nihat broke the stalemate. The nimble footed teenager doubled his tally after four minutes and completed his hat-trick just at the halfway stage of the first half, in the 23rd minute.
Nihat, who is known as Ucchash to his friends, scored another goal in the injury time of the first half, and at the end of the match, he was ecstatic with his goal spree.
“I cannot explain the exuberance with words, I am very excited. This is my first hat-trick for my country. This is a huge achievement for me. I will try to score another hat-trick in the next match,” said Nihat to the media.
Before Nihat’s fourth goal, Mehedi scored one and Rasel netted his first goal just two minutes after resumption to make the score 6-0. Rasel scored another goal in 66th minute before Ashikur grabbed the eighth in the 80th minute. Bangladesh got a penalty in the fifth minute of injury time and Ashikur successfully converted to complete the rout.
