The Bangladesh Football federation has verbally proposed Bhutan and Sri Lanka to join hosts Bangladesh in a proposed tri-nation friendly tournament during the Fifa international window from November 12 to 20.

“We made a verbal proposal to Bhutan and Sri Lanka to join hosts Bangladesh in a tri-nation friendly tournament in November. They said that they would let us know their decision in two days.” said BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag on Wednesday.

The BFF has been looking for suitable opponents to make the best use of the Fifa window while the national team head coach Jamie Day also urged for more international fixtures before leaving for vacation on Sunday.

One of Day’s suggestions was to pick the opponents who rank close to Bangladesh in the Fifa ranking. Bangladesh currently ranks 193rd while Bhutan and Sri Lanka are in 188th and 199th position in the ranking respectively.
