Youngster Biplo’s elder brother, Bablu Ahmed arranged the event distributing around one thousand tickets in his locality
Through a rally, a motor cycle showdown and a band party, a group of around 500 fans of home boy Biplo Ahmed continued to fill up the south-western gallery of the Sylhet District Stadium during Bangladesh’s second Bangabandhu Gold Cup group match against the Philippines on Friday.
Youngster Biplo’s elder brother, Bablu Ahmed arranged the event distributing around one thousand tickets in his locality. The rally started in front of Biplu’s house in Subid Bazar and arrived at gate 2 of the venue through Police Line road, Rekabi Bazar point and Lama Bazar.
The supporters took their seats on the south-eastern corner which they called “Biplu Gallery”. Four members from the New Balaka Band Party were hired for the rally as well as for the game. Biplu’s other brother Shiplu Ahmed was also among the ones who organized the showdown.
Both Bablu and Shiplu are footballers as well, playing for Sylhet United Club as right-back and striker respectively. Shiplu also played in the Chittagong league. Bablu said that he bought 800 tickets and received 100-200 more tickets from Biplu and distributed them in their ward. He also informed they organized a similar arrangement for the first match.
Earlier, Biplu, the youngest member in the family of seven brothers and two sisters, scored his first international goal against Laos on Monday and ran all the way from north-eastern corner of the field toward the south-eastern gallery to celebrate the moment.
