Bangladesh top-flight outfit Bashundhara Kings outplayed Maldives League champion New Radiant Club 4-1 in a Fifa international club friendly at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari Friday.
It was a resounding victory for the Kings, who only secured promotion last year after being established in 2013.
Belfort opened the scoring for the Kings in the 18th minute before Tawhidul Alam Sabuj, Ousmal Jallow and Mahbubur Rahman Sufil made it 4-0, after netting in the 22nd, 51st and 60th minute respectively.
Kipson Athuheire bagged the consolation goal for New Radiant in the 63rd minute.
The Kings' squad featured a mixture of quality local and foreign players, including Costa Rican forward Daniel Colindres, who featured for the Ticos at the 2018 Russia World Cup.
New Radiant on the other hand met a known face in the Kings dugout in the shape of Spanish coach Oscar Bruzon, who previously managed the Maldives club.
Several Maldives national team players featured in the New Radiant line-up, alongside a few foreign players.
The Nilphamari venue hosted only its second ever match, after the Fifa international friendly between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka on August 29 this year. The capacity of the venue is 21,500.
