Bangladesh football team will leave Dhaka for South Korea Saturday night for a two-week long training camp, ahead of the Asian Games and Saff Championship. Bangladesh will also take part in three practice matches in South Korea against local opposition.
The details of the South Korea tour were announced in a press conference at BFF House in Dhaka Friday where midfielder Jamal Bhuiyan, head coach Jamie Day, assistant coach Stuart Watkiss and fitness coach Paul Davis were present among others.
The Bangladesh team will depart for Indonesia on August 11 for the Asian Games 2018 where the men in red and green have been grouped together with Thailand, Uzbekistan and 2022 Fifa World Cup host Qatar in Pool B.
The men’s football event will be held from August 14 to September 1 in Jakarta and Palembang. The U-23 tournament, which allows each country to field three overage players, will see 26 teams vying for honours. The top two teams in each group, along with the four best third-placed sides, will advance to the Round of 16.
Following the Asian Games, the Bangladesh team will turn their attention to the Saff Championship 2018. Bangladesh will host the event in September.
Ahead of the Asian Games, the Bangladesh footballers underwent training camps at BKSP and Qatar. Prior to that, the men in red and green also held a camp in Thailand.
