Hundreds and thousands of Mexican fans rushed to Moscow’s Luzhniki Stadium wearing deep green jerseys, holding onto their flags and sporting the famous Mexican hats.

Despite beginning their Group F campaign against all-time favourite and current World Cup champion Germany Sunday, the Mexican fans are passionatly singing “Go, go Mexico” all the way to the stadium entrance.

Many Mexican fan groups were seen holding World Cup dummies and cheering loudly. Several of these fans travelled to Moscow directly from Mexico and they are very large in numbers, compared to the Germany fans.

Jose, a Mexican fan, said, “We don’t care about the rankings or the result. We love Mexico and our football team. We are very much positive we can hold the world champion [Sunday].

"I love Rafael Marquez. Whether he is playing or not, he is the symbol of our football, ever since I am watching football. Also [Javier Hernandez] ‘Chicharito’ is very familiar in our country. Hope he will score [Sunday]."

Jose also informed that Marquez, a Mexican football veteran, is on the bench for the Germany game.

"I am very proud that in 2026 we are going to host the event. You all are invited. We will show you our passion and hospitality. The world is going to love it," said Jose proudly after Fifa named USA, Mexico and Canada as 2026 World Cup co-hosts recently.

There were also a host of German fans but you will see green everywhere is Moscow right now. The Mexican fans’ vibrant colours and jerseys made them more visible.

Whatever turns out to be the result on the pitch after 90 minutes of football, these fans are making this game beautiful with their presence.
