Walton U-18 National Football: No goals on second day

The second day of the Walton U-18 National Football Tournament failed to produce any goals as Team BJMC held Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club to a goalless draw while title favourites Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited and Chittagong Abahani Limited fired blanks at Bangabandhu National Stadium in Dhaka Friday. In Saturday's matches at the same venue, Farashganj Sporting Club will take on Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra while Saif Sporting Club Limited will face Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra. The U-18 players of the 12 top-flight clubs are taking part in the tournament. The champion will receive Tk5 lakhs while the runners-up side will get Tk3 lakhs as prize money. The rest of the clubs will each pocket Tk2 lakhs as participation money.Group A comprises Brothers Union, Sheikh Russel and Saif Sporting while Group B contains Sheikh Jamal, Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society and BJMC. Chittagong Abahani, Arambagh Krira Sangha and Mohammedan make up Group C while Group D comprises Abahani Limited, Farashganj and Muktijoddha. The group stage matches will conclude Thursday following which the quarter-finals will be held from Friday to next Monday. The semi-finals will be held on May 9 and 10 with the final scheduled to be held on May 12.
