Saif Sporting U-16 qualify for 2nd Division
Saif Sporting Club Limited youth (U-16) team qualified for the 2nd Division League after beating Jatrabari Jhatika Sangsad 1-0 in a play-off of the Saif PB 3rd Division Football League at Kamalapur Stadium in Dhaka Monday. Apon Chandra netted the only goal in the 78th minute. Premier league outfit Saif Sporting run two youth teams, U-16 and U-18, and six of their players from the U-16 side will represent the club in the BFF U-18 Tournament, kicking off Wednesday, informed the club's general secretary Mahbubur Rahman Sumon Monday. Saif's youth team earned 15 points from nine matches to make it among the top five in the Super League, along with Siddiqbazar Dhaka Junior Sporting Club (third) and Jatrabari JS (fifth). Earlier, Arambagh Football Academy became the champion with a game in hand and their forward Rimon Hossain finished as the event’s top-scorer with eight goals.
