BFF coach Mahbub Hossain Roksy is set to join Bangladesh Premier League side Lt. Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club Limited as the head coach after the post became vacant following the sudden departure of Nigerian Joseph Afusi.
Roksy, who was the head coach of the Bangladesh U-19 team in the AFC U-19 Championship Qualifiers early this month, agreed personal terms with the club and is likely to sign the official contract Thursday, soon after receiving clearance from the football federation.
Afusi guided the Dhanmondi-based outfit in the first phase of the league before resigning from the post Tuesday. The club's football committee chairman Ashrafuddin Ahmed Chunnu explained that Roksy's performance with the U-19 youngsters in Tajikistan made their task easier to find Afusi's replacement in a very short time. Roksy has been brought in to guide the club till the end of the league.
Roksy also confirmed his new job, adding that he is likely to sign the contract Thursday after getting clearance from the BFF, where he started working as coach in 2005. Before that, he coached Badda Jagoroni Club in 2003-04. Roksy completed his AFC “A” license course in 2009 and worked as head coach and assistant coach of different men's and women's national age-group teams.
