Leader Bashundhara Kings lost to holder Fakirerpool Young Men's Club 2-0 in their last match of the Bangladesh Championship League at Birsreshtha Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Kamalapur Wednesday.
Sujon Mahmud and Sohag Nayeem scored in the 15th and 55th minute respectively to put an end to Bashundhara's consecutive winning run of five matches. Bashundhara concluded their campaign at the top of the points table with 35 points from 18 games.
The victory helped Fakirerpool, who got promoted to the top-tier last season but refused to play, climbed from seventh to third spot with 25 points from the same number of outings.
Meanwhile, two former premier league sides, Feni Soccer Club and Uttar Baridhara Club played out a 1-1 draw in their last match.
