Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra and Farashganj Sporting Club played out a goalless draw in the Bangladesh Premier Football League at Bangabandhu National Stadium Tuesday.
In the day's other match at the same venue, Team BJMC registered their second victory in the league after beating Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society 2-1.
BJMC climbed to seventh place with the win with nine points from as many games while Rahmatganj remained sixth with 10 points.
BJMC went ahead in the 19th minute through a brilliant finish by veteran forward Mehedi Hasan Topu.
Collecting the ball from Nigerian forward Kingsley Oshiokha, Topu fired a volley home that gave Rahmatganj goalkeeper Omar Faruk no chance.
BJMC's delight however, lasted for only three minutes as Rahmatganj's Nigerian defender Monday Osagie cancelled the lead, heading home a long free-kick by captain Naimur Rahman Shahed.
Cameroonian defender Fombagne Esaie put BJMC ahead again in the 39th minute, placing home a Sumon Das cross.
Meanwhile, in the day's first match, two sides from the bottom half of the points table failed to find the back of the net in a dull affair.
Following a barren opening half, Farashganj, the Old Dhaka outfit, had a great chance in the 57th minute when Nigerian forward Chinedu Mathew, receiving a long ball, took a powerful volley from inside the box only to see his left-footed effort hit the woodwork.
Muktijoddha's Saikar Mahmud Munna shot just wide following a low cross from substitute forward Didarul Alam in the 75th minute.
They had another chance eight minutes later when Motiur Rahman headed over from a Ejike Collins cross.
In the 87th minute, Mathew broke into the box, cut inside a defender but his shot was saved by Muktijoddha keeper Uttam Barua.
