Dhaka Tribune clinched the Kool-BSJA (Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association) Media Cup Football Tournament title after beating Channel 24 2-1 in the grand finale at BFF artificial turf Friday.
Tribune’s Mohammad Shahriar Real was adjudged player of the final while Baizid Haque Joarder ended the competition as the highest scorer.
The winning side pocketed Tk30,000 as prize money while the runners up team received Tk15,000.
Football organiser Sheikh Mohammad Maruf Hasan also awarded the finalists Tk10,000 each.
Earlier Friday at the same venue, Tribune defeated Jaagonews24.com 2-0 to seal their final berth while Channel 24 beat ETV 3-0 in the other semi-final.
Tribune captain BM Fazley Rabbi Moon was awarded with the best player accolade in their last-four clash.
A total of 24 media houses took part in the five-day tournament.
The six-a-side competition was sponsored by Kool and organised by BSJA.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Youth and Sports Ministry, Zahid Ahsan Russell MP distributed prizes among the teams and players as the chief guest while former footballer Shafiqul Islam Manik, BFF general secretary Abu Nayeem Shohag and BSJA president Syed Saidur Rahman Shamim were also present among others on the occasion.
