Bangladesh will take on host Bhutan while Nepal lock horn with India in the final day of the Saff U-18 Championship 2017 Wednesday as the battle intensifies at Changlimithang Stadium in Thimphu.
The Bangladesh-Bhutan match kicks off at 4pm, Bangladesh standard time, and the Nepal-India tie begins three hours later.
All the four teams have the chance to lift the championship as the quartet are currently locked at six points each after playing the same number of matches – three.
The quartet each have two wins and a loss to their credit.
Ahead of the game, Bangladesh captain Tutul Hossain Badshah said, “We were very unfortunate to lose the match against Nepal because we missed a lot of easy chances. The red card of Bishwanath Haider hurt us and put us under pressure. [Wednesday] we don’t want to make any further mistakes against Bhutan. We want a good victory because still we have the chance to become champion. Please, everybody back, pray for us.”
Bangladesh coach Mahbubur Rahman Roxy said, “We were very unfortunate in our loss against Nepal but we can’t keep thinking about it. We have to do well in future. We still have the opportunity to become champion. We must beat Bhutan in our last match. Please pray for us and keep supporting us as our boys are trying hard to bring the championship for the country.”
