The BFF on Friday decided to change the fixture of the Bangladesh Premier Football League once again as there will be no match from Wednesday till the beginning of next month due to the U-18 national team’s participation in the Saff U-18 Championship 2017, scheduled to be held in Bhutan from September 18-27.
The eighth-round matches will be held from Sunday to Tuesday after which the premier league will be postponed until any specific date.
The decision was taken during a professional league committee meeting at the BFF House on Friday.
“In the recently announced U-18 national team squad, there are players from 10 premier league clubs. Some clubs told us that it is not possible for them to continue the league without their key U-18 players. Every club agreed to postpone the league due to absence of their players. The league is likely to resume on October 1 or 2,” said professional league committee chairman Abdus Salam Murshedy on Friday.
He also informed that they will fix and upgrade the current poor condition of the Bangabandhu National Stadium pitch during this gap.
Since the kick off of the country’s top flight, the fixture has been changed for at least two times during the seven rounds where a total of 42 matches were held.
