Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited registered their second win in the Bangladesh Premier League after beating Team BJMC comfortably 3-1 at Bangabandhu National Stadium on Sunday.
Meanwhile in the day’s other match at the same venue, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra beat Farashganj Sporting Club 2-1.
Nkwocha Kingsley Chigozie was the star of the day netting a brace.
The Nigerian striker put the Black and Whites ahead with only 13 minutes into the clock.
After skipping past a couple of defenders, the Nigerian took a shot from the top of the box that hit the back of the net.
Nkwocha doubled the lead in the 45th minute after fine work from Toklis Ahmed.
Toklis drifted past his marker through the left side before feeding the ball at the middle of six-yard box where Nkwocha was ready to tap home with ease.
Samson Iliasu extended the lead in the 78th minute with a volley from the middle of the box, giving BJMC goalkeeper Arifuzzaman Hemel no chance.
BJMC scored a consolation through Yoko Samnick in the 79th minute.
The Cameroonian midfielder broke into the penalty area, skipped past the onrushing Mohammedan keeper Mamun Khan before calmly pushing the ball past the goal-line.
The other match between Sheikh Russel and Farashganj was the last match of the sixth round.
The Old Dhaka outfit went ahead in the 31st minute.
Farashganj midfielder Mohammad Afzal Hossain’s initial effort was blocked by Sheikh Russel custodian Maksudur Rahman before Nigerian defender Eleta Benjamin Junior sent the rebound into his own net.
Sheikh Russel equalised in the 57th minute and it was Eleta who made amend for his own goal.
Mohammad Zulfiqar netted the winner for Sheikh Russel 10 minutes from the final whistle.
