Daily newspapers Janakantha and Dhaka Tribune on Saturday made it through to the quarter-finals of the ongoing Kool-BSJA Media Cup Football. Organised by the Bangladesh Sports Journalists Association, the five-day long six-a-side football tournament is being held at Bangladesh Football Federation's artificial turf.
Dhaka Tribune defeated BDNews24.com 2-1 to maintain its hundred percent winning record in Group H. Dhaka Tribune's Baizid Haque Joarder bagged a brace and was named player of the match.
Meanwhile in Group F, Janakantha defeated Daily Jugantor by the same scoreline to progress to the last eight.
In the other matches of the day, Daily Star defeated Daily Nayadiganta 5-0, Independent TV beat Sokaler Khabar 1-0, Somoy TV defeated Daily Sangbad 5-0 while Bangladesh Pratidin beat Maasranga TV 1-0.
The game between JagoNews24.com and Kaler Kantha ended in a goalless draw.
