A struggling Feni Soccer Club earned a valuable point after six straight defeats when they held Mohammedan Sporting Club to a 1-1 draw in the Bangladesh Premier League at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh on Saturday.
After being held to a 1-1 draw by Rahmatganj in the first phase on September 21 this year, the Feni outfit went through a poor run of six straight losses to hover around the relegation zone.
Mohammedan have also been struggling as they won only two matches out of 14.
The battle of the two struggling sides ended all square and it didn't change any of the two teams' positions in the bottom half of the table. Mohammedan remained at ninth with 13 points while Feni are placed second from bottom with only 10 points, one ahead of bottom-placed Uttar Baridhara Club.
Masuk Mia Joni put the Black and Whites ahead seven minutes into the second half. After collecting a pass from Guinean striker Ismael Bangoura, the national midfielder took a shot from the middle of the box that went past Feni goalkeeper Osman Goni.
The delight didn't last long however, as Nigerian midfielder Uche Felix cancelled the lead four minutes later. Ghanaian striker Twum Frank chested down a cross of Mahbubul Islam Himu before passing it to Felix, who placed past Mohammedan custodian Mohammad Nehal.
Meanwhile, leaders Abahani Limited will take on Team BJMC in their 14th round match on Sunday at the same venue at 3pm. The win will give the Sky Blues a four-point lead at the top of the table.
