Bangladesh men’s national cricket team will play a T20 practice game against hosts Oman A team on Friday at Oman Cricket Academy.

Although the tourists had decided to have only practice sessions in Oman before travelling to UAE to play the official practice games of the ICC T20 World Cup against Sri Lanka and Ireland, the Bangladesh team management is now thinking it is better to play a game in Oman condition.

Bangladesh team reached Oman on early hours Monday amid tension of the middle-eastern country hit by tropical cyclone Shaheen and following a flight dilemma. On Tuesday the team had their first training session.

Bangladesh team will travel to Dubai on October 9 to take part in two official practice games on October 12 and 14 against Sri Lanka and Ireland respectively.

Two key members of the squad – Shakib al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman will join the team in UAE on the same day following their stint in the ongoing India Premier League T20.

Mahmudullah Riyad and his troop will then return to Oman on October 15 to participate in the qualifier stage and will face Scotland in their first qualifier game on October 17 at Al Amerat Cricket Stadium in Muscat.

Bangladesh will then face Oman and Papua New Guinea on October 19 and 21 respectively at the same venue in the qualifying stage of the World T20.
